Laser Cleaning & CCD Tester for Prismatic Cells

Technical Excellence

The Laser Cleaning & CCD Tester for prismatic cells is a specialised battery manufacturing machine developed by Semco Infratech for laser-based surface cleaning and polarity detection of lithium-ion prismatic battery cells. It is designed to remove oxide-layer stains from the surfaces of square aluminium battery shell poles, helping prepare the electrode surfaces for more reliable welding.

The system integrates a laser cleaning unit with a CCD visual positioning system, allowing the machine to capture images and inspect battery electrode arrangements during the cleaning process. By combining laser cleaning with vision-based polarity identification, the equipment helps operators detect incorrectly arranged positive and negative electrodes before the battery pack proceeds to the next manufacturing stage.

During operation, the battery pack is manually positioned on the machine’s positioning bar. The coaxial vision system works alongside the laser cleaning process to capture images and check the electrode arrangement. If the system identifies an incorrect battery arrangement, it triggers an audible alarm and stops the machine. Once laser cleaning and polarity testing are completed, the operator manually removes the battery pack.

Featuring a 200W laser source, a CCD visual positioning system and a gantry-based motion platform, the Semco Laser Cleaning & CCD Tester for prismatic cells is suitable for battery manufacturers seeking integrated electrode surface preparation and polarity verification within prismatic cell assembly processes.
