Battery Charge & Discharge Cabinet

Technical Excellence

The Battery Charge & Discharge Cabinet is a high-performance battery testing system designed for testing battery cells, modules, packs and large battery clusters used in electric vehicles and energy storage applications. The SI-MS BCDS 1650V 500A 4CH-1000kW model combines programmable charge and discharge capabilities with advanced testing software to support battery performance evaluation, cycle life analysis and operating condition simulation.

With a specified voltage range of 80–1650V and four testing channels, the system supports a range of battery testing requirements. It enables constant current, constant power, constant voltage and pulse-based charging and discharging, along with programmable operating condition simulation. These functions help manufacturers evaluate battery performance under different testing conditions and collect detailed information throughout the test process.

The integrated Semco testing software records parameters such as voltage, current, power, temperature, charging capacity and discharging capacity at a specified data recording interval of 10 milliseconds. Recorded data can be stored in a MySQL database, reviewed through graphical analysis and exported in formats such as Excel. The software also supports cycle life testing, capacity testing, DCR testing, rate testing, temperature characteristic testing and state-of-charge (SOC) adjustment.

Semco Battery Charge & Discharge Cabinet includes battery protection functions such as overvoltage, undervoltage, overcurrent, overcharge, over-discharge, temperature and individual cell voltage protection. Its software supports Battery Management System (BMS) communication through CAN, DBC file import and configurable testing conditions. These features help users monitor test parameters and configure test procedures according to their requirements.

The system also features energy feedback technology, with a specified maximum conversion efficiency above 96%, allowing more than 96% of discharged energy to be fed back to the grid under the stated operating conditions. This supports energy-efficient battery testing and can help reduce the energy consumed during repeated testing cycles. Designed for battery manufacturing, performance validation and energy storage testing environments, the Semco SI-MS BCDS provides a configurable platform for evaluating battery performance, collecting test data and assessing battery behaviour across different operating conditions.
